Mr. Brandon James
1st. Degree Black Belt
Karate was always something that caught Mr. James attention, he even trained in a different dojo as a child once. However, due to health reasons, he quit once he reached Green Belt. Years had passed since then and he gotten out of shape. His Uncle came to him, telling him about IKF and how he was interested in joining and asked Mr. James if he'd like to join him. The Funny part is, Mr.James was actually interested in starting Karate up again, always having that guilt of not being able to go all the way, for just quitting and not looking back. Brandon decided at that moment, "I'll try the one class, if I like it, I'll continue." Mr. James doesn't know that if it was a blessing or a curse that the "one class" he wanted to try out, overlapped on the same day as a Kyu testing. By the end of the class he was sweating bullets, the Gi he had borrowed from his father was soaked through, his skin flustered, breath was reduced to quick and short gasps, and his body was aching like no tomorrow, but he never felt so alive. That one class was all it took for Mr. James to fall in love with Karate all over again. He would never forget that day for it was the start of his karate career. He made new friends he saw as a second family, he rose in the ranks, and soon enough, he had achieved the goal he wanted as kid, which was to become a black belt. But this is just the beginning.
Now, as an instructor, he teaches children of all ages the sport he loves, and get great joy out of watching their faces light up in excitement as they learn a new kata or technique. Just Like he did.
