Yondan jason Stephens
4th. Degree Black Belt

Martial Arts first struck YonDan Stephens' interest as a child. HeI loved Ninja Turtles and most other super hero shows as well (as did/do most kids). YonDan Stephens always sparred in the yard with his friends, Finally, when he was eleven, he started TaeKwonDo Plus. But after a year, due to financial problems, YonDan Stephens had to quit; yet his interest in martial arts never died, so he trained with his friends in his yard almost every day.

Later, at fourteen, YonDan Stephens tried to take up actual training again, but with his previous experience in TaeKwonDo Plus, he felt that it had little to offer him. He tried a number of styles, none of which could hold his interest. Finally, sometime around March of 2003, YonDan Stephens met Sensei Ray Nichols and was sold almost immediately but due to an injury, didn't sign up until June of 2003.

YonDan Stephens worked very hard and achieved First Degree Black belt on February 12th, 2005. YonDan Stephens started his teaching career as an assistant under Jill Cagle when he was a 1st Kyu brown belt sometime in the school year of 2004-2005. YonDan Stephens earned his Nidan (2nd Degree) February 11th, 2006 and then tested again and earned his SanDan (3rd Degree) December 8th 2007. Finally, YonDan Stephens tested again on Nov. 20th 2010 and earned his YonDan (4th Degree).

YonDan Stephens has a son, was born on July 25th 2005.

YonDan Stephens' goal as an instructor is to provide the best karate he can and to set the best example he can. He prays through small acts he can make a difference. YonDan Stephens says, "I know it isn't easy for a person to change the world, but I do know the smallest act can change the world of a person. The road ahead of me is a long one, never ending, with many obstacles, curves and bends... but I look forward to the journey."
